National Resuscitation Council

The National Resuscitation Council of Jamaica (NRC) was established under the auspices of the Inter American Heart Foundation (IAHF) with the specific responsibility to regulate the training of Emergency Cardiac Care (ECC) in Jamaica.

The NRC encourages both the training of Basic CPR in the wider community and advocates for the implementation of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in all public places. Organizations and individuals who are involved in ECC training are encouraged to register with the NRC and become members.

The National Resuscitation Council (NRC) of Jamaica is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that was established by the Heart Foundation of Jamaica (HFJ) and incorporated in October 2004. The Inter-American Heart Foundation (IAHF), an umbrella organization of the Heart Foundations in Latin America and the Caribbean, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Wellness, spearheaded this venture.
